EMILIO's AUTOBIOGRAPHY
 
EMILIO SAHAGUN MAYO "EMIL", was born in Tampos Mayanan, Sta Cruz, Zambales on March 20, 1920.  He is the 3rd to the eldest of 8th sons and daughters of the late Simon and Margarita Mayo "Titay" who became the  FISH wholeseller, retailers, and distributors in the province of Pangasinan during the Spanish regime and Pre-WWII era.  They were well known and loved by inhavitants of the neighboring villages of both Macalang and Bayambang villages.  They owned the "RED ROOF" mansion that once used as the first School Building in the Barrio of Macalang.  Titay; his mother, the village Spanish teacher and a Financer.  Simon; his father, the Mathematics tutor and the "Tambuli" Master of Fishing grounds. 
 
"Emil" is one of the most educated decendants of DON Catalino Mayo of Macalang, Dasol, Pangasinan; who was once the richest village tycon that owned properties of over 760 hectares of mass land bounding from the coastal line of China Sea in theWest stretching up to the boundaries of Mt. Bayambang in the East encapsulating sitio of Pantol, Singat, and Imbo.  Magunaw, Rikudo,  and Pampawen to the North; the greater Macalang proper and Bayambang River in the South.  Massland of 2.5 Sq Miles. 
 
During the ancient times, education was not really the most popular to acquire and often not supported by the their forefathers.  Yet, "Emilio:" has aspired to pursue his studies.  He attended Elementary  education at the South Central Elementary School in Poblacion Sta Cruz, Zambales. 
 
 Upon graduation from elementary, he entered Sta Cruz Academy for his secondary education.  Emilio competed in every scholastic events with high honors. He was noted being the most brilliant mathematician in the campus.  After high school, he enterred the College of Acccountancy at the Mapua University de Manila.  He earned a Degree in Accountancy before WWII erupted.
 
After colllege, he married the late Generosa Merza Madarang  of Bayambang, Infanta, Pangasinan.  They have 13 children that needed food , clothing, shelter, and specially education.  Emilio struggled and tried many ventures to support his own family.  At some time he was employed at the Marcos Copper Mines in Marindoque as a Quality Assurance & Quality Control Officer QA / QC..
 
During the late 1960's an ambition came obout in Kasangbayan, a sitio of Pita, Infanta, Pangasinan, "White Clay" deposits reconned by the late Inso Ballado and his cousin Diosdado Ballado of Mabini, Pangasinan.  A survey movement was conducted in the Public Lands and mountainuous terrain of Pita.  "WESPAMEX"
Western Pangasinan Exploration Corporation formed.  .
 
The movement was endorsed by Don Francisco (PACOY) Marcha, a Town Councilor of Poblacion Infanta, Pangasinan, partnered by the former Director of Philippine Natural Resoiurces, Hon.Quillupe CEO,  (Board of Directors); Mr Osorio and Mr Villar of Alos, Alaminos Pangasinan.
 
Their ambitions progressed to the discovery of copper deposits known as the  "Fools' Gold" in Kasangbayan that turned into a lost cause due to lack of prospective CAPITALIST.

Emilio Sahagun Mayo -  Eldest son of the Fishing Ground Tycons, Planner, Fisherman, Miner, Strategist, and a Politician. 

Paz Mayo Fernandez (deceased)  - Retired Educator of Sta Cruz, Zambales 

 Heronimo Sahagun Mayo (deceased) - Barrio Peace Keeper, died of bus accident (Pantranco Bus Company) driven by Bobis 

 Irineo Sahagun Mayo -  Retired U.S. Army.   Korean & Vietnam War Veteran, an Industrial Engineer & a Federal Employee.  The  Root of the MAYO Legends.

Dominga Mayo Mendoza -  Retired Educator of Subic, Zambales, now residing in Portland, Oregon, USA.          

 Rosa Mayo Vito (deceased)  -  Barter and Seamstress of the MAYO Legends.  

In 1976, Emilio migrated in Guam to join his mother the late Margarita Sahagun Mayo who is already at an old age.  His main intent is to explore other opportunities hoping that his children will someday experience a better outlook in life as a fervent wish. 

For more than 4 decades ago today, Emilio proudly stands out to present you with his family and siblings' accomplishments as described in the narrative of the MAYO CLAN's History culminating wisdom & slogan, "The Root is Bitter but the Fruit is Sweet".    Thanks GOD for  his AMAZING GRACE!!!!.....Success is Truly deserved....................

Celebration was hosted by Elmer & Becky Palomer.
Children from California, Arizona, and Guam flocked in Peoria, Arizona to take part of the joyous event.
 
He is now the oldest surviving sibling of the Mayo Legends
Oldest man in Macalang and Bayambang
Still looking good and going strong.

Standing on the left is our cousin Manang "PINA" daughter of the late Tata IKOY and Nana POLON of  BIA-A together with  her husband Mr Merenio of Nayom.  They were picked up by Romy & Sonia to take part of the event.  We have no seen Manang PINA since 1977.  Mini-reunion of the MAYOs.
